As was reported earlier in the year, Goldsmiths and PERC are partners in a major new ESRC Centre, the Centre for Understanding Sustainable Prosperity (CUSP), led by Tim Jackson at Surrey. PERC’s involvement will be led by our Co-Director, Will Davies, who is a Co-Investigator on the project. CUSP launches formally in January 2016.
In the coming months, we will be advertising an ESRC PhD studentship and a post-doctoral research assistant position, based at PERC and attached to CUSP. Both of these will be to work with Will Davies on one particular theme of research, ‘Meaning and Moral Framing of Sustainable Prosperity’. This will be an inter-disciplinary work programme, drawing on political and moral philosophy, economic sociology and political economy, to interrogate the normative and institutional conditions of alternative economic models. Please check back at the PERC or CUSP websites for further information on this exciting new research agenda.
